Your Guide To Treatments Covered

Providing you and any employees have relevant qualifications from a recognised and accredited UK training college or company for any treatments being carried out, we will provide indemnity to you in respect of the following treatments listed under your trade category and shown on your Policy Schedule and subject to the additional terms listed against the treatment if applicable

  1. Barber
    In respect of washing styling cutting and drying of hair including the use of cut throat razors and hair clippers and trimmers
  2. Hairdresser
    In respect of

    1. application of false eyelashes
    2. application of tooth jewellery
    3. eyebrow and eyelash plucking shaping perming dyeing and tinting
    4. cutting and shaping of nails including application of acrylic coatings
    5. ear piercing by gun and stud method
    6. tinting dyeing bleaching permanent waving or special treatment of hair
    7. use of cut-throat razors
    8. use of electrical equipment such as tongs, curlers, straighteners, hairdryers
    9. use of hair clippers and trimmers
    10. washing, styling, cutting, application of hair extensions and drying of hair
  3. Nail Technician
    In respect of

    1. application of nail art
    2. application of nail extensions and nail coatings including varnish
    3. cutting or shaping nails
    4. manicures and pedicures including paraffin wax
  4. Beauty Therapist
    In respect of

    1. acid peels (only covered if treatment shown on the policy schedule)provided that
      1. full written aftercare instructions are provided to the client
      2. glycolic and or alpha hydroxyl treatment concentrations do not exceed 40% of the solution
      3. an allergic reaction has not been diagnosed following fulfilment of an appropriate skin test 24 hours prior to the commencement of such treatment
    2. application of false tanning products including airbrush and spray tanning
    3. application of tooth jewellery
    4. aqua detox
    5. bleaching of superfluous hair
    6. cosmetics and nail extensions
    7. cranio sacral therapy
    8. cutting and shaping of nails applying acrylic coatings
    9. detox foot spa
    10. ear piercing using stud and gun method
    11. electrolysis hair removal (only covered if treatment shown on the policy schedule) provided that
      1. such electrolysis equipment is inspected at least annually by a qualified electrical engineer
      2. the electrolysis equipment is operated by a trained person(s)
    12. electro-mechanical slimming and toning treatments (only covered if treatment shown on the policy schedule) provided that the Equipment
      1. is fully inspected at least annually by a qualified electrical engineer and full instructions are given to customers as to the method of safe use of the facilities
      2. is under regular supervision by a responsible trained person who shall be on the premises continuously while the equipment is in use

      electro-mechanical slimming and toning treatments include body wraps faradic treatments cathiodermie galvanic treatments micro current treatments non-surgical facelift ultrasound vacuum suction

    13. eyebrow and eyelash plucking shaping tinting perming and application of false eyelashes
    14. facial masks including ionisation and steaming treatments
    15. hair removal preparations other than electrolysis
    16. henna art
    17. holistic treatments including aromatherapy reflexology bowen technique reiki crystal healing stone therapy hopi ear candles indian head massage kinesiology
    18. infra red treatments
    19. makeup including stage makeup
    20. manicures pedicures including paraffin wax
    21. massage including sports massage acupressure manual lymphatic drainage
    22. microdermabrasion (only covered if treatment if shown on policy schedule)
    23. oxygen treatment
    24. sugaring
    25. threading

Patch Test Condition

It is a condition precedent to liability that in respect of tinting dyeing or bleaching of hair eyebrows or eyelashes that each client shall be given an allergy test at least 24 hours prior to the commencement of treatment and manufacturers guidelines should be adhered to at all times. Should there be an allergic reaction to the test the Company will not indemnify the Insured in respect of any claim which may arise from any treatment given subsequent to such test.

All other Terms Conditions and Exceptions remain unaltered.
