Stock, Landlord’s Fixtures and Fittings and All Other Contents

Between £10,000 and £50,000, available in multiples of £5,000 (eg. £15,000, £20,000, £25,000 etc.)

Cover if any of your stock, landlord’s fixtures and fittings or contents is lost, stolen or damaged. Please ensure that the limit you select is adequate to cover ALL stock, landlord’s fixtures and fittings (including your shop front), equipment and all other contents for which you are responsible.

The limit must be adequate to replace all items on a new for old basis. Even if you have purchased some equipment second hand, this must be insured for its full new replacement value. If you fail to insure for the correct value, you may not receive a full payment in the event of a claim. For example, selecting a limit of £10,000 when the true replacement value of all items is £20,000 will mean that you could only get 50% of the value of any claim paid as you have only insured for, and paid the premium for, half the value of your equipment.

You can amend your cover later to include protection against accidental damage. There is an excess of £500 each and every loss under this section.

Public Liability

£1 million, £2 million or £5 million

Protection in the event that you are responsible for an injury to a member of the public or cause damage to their property including as a result of products you supply.

This provides protection against your legal liability for accidental injury to any person or damage to their property arising out of the operation of your business. The standard limit under the policy is £1,000,000 any one claim in respect of public liability and £1,000,000 in any one period of insurance in respect of products liability. This standard limit can be increased to £2 million or £5 million for an additional premium. There is an excess of £500 each and every claim.

Products Liability

£1 million, £2 million or £5 million

Protection in the event that you are responsible for an injury to a member of the public as a result of a product you’ve sold or supplied.

This provides protection against your legal liability for accidental injury to any person arising out of a product you’ve sold or supplied. The standard limit under the policy is £1,000,000 any one claim in respect of public liability and £1,000,000 in any one period of insurance in respect of products liability. This standard limit can be increased to £2 million or £5 million for an additional premium. There is an excess of £500 each and every claim.

Professional Treatment Risk

£500,000

This provides protection against your legal liability for accidental injury to any person or damage to their property arising out of any treatments undertaken. You will need to hold a UK recognised qualification in any treatments undertaken. Any treatments you undertake must be acceptable treatments to us and included within our standard treatment list. The standard limit under the policy is £500,000 any one claim. There is an excess of £500 each and every claim.

If you have this cover insured elsewhere, you don’t need to add this to your salon insurance policy.

Employers Liability

£10 million

Protection in the event that you are liable for an injury to a member of staff.

If you employ any staff or trainees, Employer’s Liability insurance is a legal requirement. Cover is provided up to £10,000,000 and provides protection against claims for compensation from employees following injury during the course of their employment.

Goods in Transit

£2,500

Cover for any property insured by this policy whilst in transit in your own vehicles anywhere in the UK.

Cover is provided for damage to any of the property insured under this policy whilst it is in transit in any of your vehicles anywhere in the UK. Cover excludes theft overnight from an unattended vehicle. There is an excess of £500 each and every claim.

Money

£3,000

Cover for loss of business money from the premises during business hours or whilst kept in a safe out of hours or whilst in transit.

Cover is provided for loss of business money up to £3,000 whilst on the premises during business hours, whilst in transit or whilst contained in a safe outside business hours. Cover is also provided for compensation in the event of bodily injury caused by robbery, theft or attempted theft. Please refer to the policy wording for full details of this cover. There is no excess under this section.

Glass

£5,000

Cover for breakage of glass at the premises including any costs of boarding up.

Up to £5,000 cover for breakage of fixed glass at the premises including the costs of boarding up. Cover also includes damage to the contents of display windows up to a maximum of £2,500. There is an excess of £500 each and every claim.

Loss of Income

£250,000

Cover if you are unable to trade for up to 2 years following the property insured under this policy being lost, stolen or damaged.

Cover is provided for any loss of income over a two year period. The maximum amount payable is £250,000 (with an option to increase to £500,000) following any loss, destruction or damage to property insured under this policy. Cover includes any outstanding book debts you are unable to recover up to a maximum of £10,000. Please refer to the policy wording for full details of this cover.
